| About the Artist - Maury Lipowich - e-mail:
maury@lipowich.com Maury M. Lipowich is an Architect whose commercial, institutional and residential projects all have a sculptural quality. He has worked with wood since his childhood. As a youngster, he learned his woodcraft from a Swiss master cabinet-maker. When he began building in Arizona, his own backyard had a giant, 18 arm Saguaro - so beautiful and so alive. When the Saguaro died, he was determined to see that the skeleton not be wasted. That's when his artwork with Saguaros began. He exposes the beauty of the wood by letting the very nature of the wood dictate its form and function. His work includes human and animal figures, menorahs, abstract forms, hiking sticks, and art sticks. Each design is a piece of unique and imaginative art. To learn more about Maury, see photos and articles about his architectural work and view more of his work visit http://www.lipowich.com. You can purchase some of his work online in his Store or visit several Tucson area Galleries and Stores. Selected items are also offered at auction on Ebay. |
